What do you mean by "Butterfly Art"?
It's true that for most of what you see done with butterflies and insects, it would be a stretch to call it "art". They have been presented on cotton against glass, looking like road kill in Riker mounts, mass-produced overseas in primitive glass-on-glass frames, or at best, offered mounted in plexiglass boxes or acrylic frames. Sky Vine's work stands out because it truly is presented as art, not as a bug collection. Even our simple single insect pieces are beautifully matted and framed, with distinctive paper backgrounds. Our larger pieces demonstrate the age-old principles of all 2D and 3D design, including Balance, Rhythm, Emphasis, and Unity. The various elements of design are employed in our layouts, where we use line, shape, value, texture, and color to create pleasing compositions that rival any other art form.
